BEAUTY: Clothing--Hackett SS '13

Although founded in 1979 by Jeremy Hackett, Hackett London just presented their very first catwalk show ever for their Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden as part of London Collections: Men. The house is very dedicated to a classic British look and the show started with what seemed like a costume fitting for either "Brideshead Revisited" (either version) or the more recent "Downton Abbey" but took those cues to quickly morph into a modern, relaxed look. Classic English elements like a Madras jacket and pinstripes eased in next to espadrilles, breezy scarves, and loose pants in paisley, pastels, and even neon brights (I love the espadrilles in orange and chartreuse).

This Jubilee year, HRH Elizabeth II awarded Hackett London a Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
