"Only through art..."

“Only through art can we emerge from ourselves and know what another person sees.”
--Marcel Proust

Shuttered in a cork-lined, sound-proofed room, the seriously ill Marcel Proust slept during the day and wrote at night, feverishly trying to complete his epic novel À LA RECHERCHE DU TEMPS PERDU. He died in 1922 before he could complete revisions of the drafts and proofs of the final three volumes, a task which was done by his brother Robert.

The above image, "Marcel Proust," is by Robert Bruce.
